Great Source!

Council meetings often produce great leads for stories, see this one I got from angry residents.

A SCOOTER has been chained to a pipe for so long even the double yellow lines have been specially painted to go around it.
The illegally parked bike has been permanently bolted to the gas pipe for five years near the lift area of the Queensbridge Estate in Haggerston.
Further bikes chained to the stairs and railings have become dangerous for the elderly and blind residents according to the Chair of The Residents Association, Doreen Bullock.
She said: “It’s a major concern. I have seen how bad it is, you can catch your legs on the peddles.
“It is dangerous as there are mostly elderly residents. The scooter has been there for five years and I’m just sick of trying to sort it out.”
Estate manager Margaret Tabe works for Pinnacle, the company who manage these estates for Hackney Homes. She said: “This is the first time I have heard about the scooter. It’s something I will look into.
“I will bring up the issue of the bikes, and we will send letters out to residents to remove their bikes from the railings after that they usually disappear.”
